Art Around the World

These classes will focus on the arts and crafts of countries around the world.   We will look at and be inspired to create work based on Native American tribes, Africa, Egypt, Japan, China, Australia, Mexico, Sweden and Italy.  All materials will be provided as well as an information sheet about each region or culture.  Students will also get a “passport” to fill in as they “travel around the world”!

                                                 Meet the Artist

Students will be introduced to the work of famous artists in history and will create their own individual interpretation of the artist’s style.  Various types of art will be explored including painting, sculpture, collage and textiles.  We will look into the lives of artists such as Van Gogh, Matisse, Mondrian, Seurat, Calder, Picasso, Kandinsky, Warhol and Munch.
